ORGANIC FOODS
i've always enjoyed talking about the benefits of organic foods to people in my family. yet, whenever the subject comes up and I offer my opinion they give me the strangest looks! if only they knew....ha! don't worry i still love u!

i wonder if you (yes, my fellow bloggers) are into organics too. i'm not a hard core organic girl but if i could afford it i would be. i guess what attracts me most to organic food is quality. i read stuff here and there about the gross pesticides, hormone cocktails, and junk big farming companies use on their crops. boy, if i could only see the toxic residue left on fruits and veggies i would swear never to eat anything non-organic again in my life - well, okay maybe i would if i was starving or too poor. wait a minute - i AM poor! i guess i won't be going hard core anytime soon =(.

here are the top eight reasons why i love organic foods:
1. no toxic chemicals, hormones, additives, pesticides, preservatives, or fillers.
2. tastes incredibly rich.
3. helps the environment/wildlife by using safe farming techniques and practices.
4. supports local organic farming industry - helping the community.
5. promotes healthier lifestyles and eating habits.
6. more nutritious (ok it's debatable).
7. growers practice safe and humane farming techniques (no animal cruelty).
8. strict guidelines and policies in order to be labeled 100% certified USDA organic.

call me a hippie. but i think if more people could take a good look at these benefits they would buy a few organic products to help out the farmers who strive to make food safe for us and our children to eat. and just maybe the honey bees would make a come back!

Yay for organic food! I know if I was rich I would eat organic too! If only it weren't so expensive... then I'd be healthy! Jk I know I can't blame that for my poor eating habits...

my very ambitious dream is to own a decent-sized yard to plant my own garden with fruits and veggies and cooking herbs and then the honeybees could make it grow and me and my family would sustain ourselves (at least produce-wise, because i am not ambitious enough to want to kill my own chickens).
