More Monkey business...

Hello again! I finally got a chance to put pictures on my poor blog. Our boys are growing up so fast. Scotty will be 4 years old in less than a week...and Matai will be a 1 year old in a month! Matai is already walking (and has been since he was 9 months). Moms I'm sure you know this when you have your second child - all he/she wants to do is copy everything his/her older sibling is doing. Matai learns something new practically everyday from Scotty.... My favorite thing is when they play chase - Matai loves to be chased and loves to chase. He will try to roar like his big brother does...goes down the slide all by himself at the park (feet first)...doesn't eat baby food because it's not what we're eating...drinks from a cup (since he was about 7 or 8 months)...plays with cars and trucks and makes the little engine noise...takes big boy baths...eats a whole banana no problem...has no problem eating period! Just like his big bro.

Scotty is now a Sunbeam! I am always so proud of my big boy. He is such a great helper and I know that I can trust him to watch his brother for a few minutes while I'm showering...or sleeping...haha! Yesterday, he told me after church the story about Daniel in the lions den without forgetting the details of the story. He's an expert at spelling his name and knows how to write a few words like: bed, hit, fox, box. He'll know how to write a word by me sounding it out. I know he'll be ready to go to school in a year. And yes, he is still absolutely infatuated with dinosaurs and still watches all three Jurassic Park movies. Every time I've asked what he dreamt of it is always dinosaurs. Oh man this guy is practically a dinosaur and sure does eat like one...every spare moment he has he is ALWAYS asking for food. So, beware! Well, I could go on and on but I wont =).

Jess said...: SO cute, I'm glad you updated! Wow, Matai walking already (and started at 9 months)! Kaipo is 7 months and doesn't even crawl! How embarrassing Kaipo! And Scotty writing words, that's awesome! Kono is 3 months older than him and he only reads words but can't even write his name. Kudos to you for being such a good mommy/teacher to your boys. Isn't it true that the younger one really looks up to the older one? Kono got that same bike as Scott's for Christmas but hasn't been able to ride it yet bc we didn't have room to take it home from UT. So cute how your boys love to eat, that is Kaipo for ya, he WANTS to EAT everything in sight! Haha!; February 5, 2010 at 8:34 PM

Here's a list of 101 things I want to do before I turn 28.

1. Do a temple session once a week for a month.
2. Buy a temple dress.
3. Go on a "real" camping trip in the mountains.
4. Enroll in masters program (speech pathology or teaching?).
5. Send birthday cards on time to family.
6. Get Scotty potty trained.
7. Go on a surf trip with Brett and Scotty and Matai.
8. Do volunteer work for at least 20 hours.
9. Get Brett and I Life Insurance policies.
10. Learn to make a VERY delicious dinner.
11. Teach Scotty to swim or at least to float.
12. Surf at least once a week for a month.
13. Do the lemon detox.
14. Do Yoga three times a week for a month.
15. Learn to make a VERY delicious dessert.
16. Eat nothing but organic for a week.
17. Do a family photo shoot of Brett, Scotty, Matai, and I.
18. Reuse my Trader Joes paper bags every time I go.
19. Re-learn the hula dance Maunaleo.
20. Build a little vegetable garden.
21. Make three 72 hour emergency kits.
22. Learn different ways to purify water.
23. Learn how to shoot a gun/shotgun.
24. Read the BOM/D&C/Pearl.
25. Have family home evening every monday for a month.
26. Get my geneology done on my Dad's side.
27. Date night once a week for a month with Brett.
28. Read 2 books each month for 4 months.
29. Pay my tithing on time.
30. Buy Scotty 10 new books.
31. Do 100 push ups every day for a month.
32. Go to a spa and get a massage.
33. Get a pedicure.
34. Learn to play 2 hymns on the piano.
35. Blog everyday for a month.
36. Bear my testimony in Church.
37. Don't argue with Brett for a month.
38. Buy a better camera.
39. Buy a dress.
40. Make a little book of poetry.
41. Do some kind of creative writing everyday for a month.
42. Learn to do basic sewing and make a shirt.
43. Learn how to use the Excel program.
44. Get annual Disneyland passes (Matai's free!).
